Riga Rigmarole 3-5 June

Our plan is to visit every country in Europe whilst we have the opportunity. My plan is to find a geocache in every European country. 😉 I have now crossed the border and found at least one cache in 24 of them. We had the opportunity to visit Riga, the capital of Latvia, one of the former Soviet satellite countries.

Just The One

When I need a cache for the day, I generally look for the nearest and quickest to me. Today, CM Hadleigh Methodist fitted the bill. I parked up in the Asda car park across the road and walked over to this quiet little memorial gardens just off the A13.

Mangapps Farm - 28th May

I have wanted to visit Mangapps Farm and its privately owned railway museum just outside Burnham-on-Crouch for a couple of years now. Today, I decided that I was coming over here whatever! I pulled into the carpark and immediately spotted an old hulk under shelter with CK69 on the bow. I have an interest in fishing smacks and bawleys so knew that the “hulk“ must have been a Colchester registered boat at some time. This was something to look at later.😀

Bashing Around Burwash

I have been looking at a Challenge Cache where the qualification was to get 50 caches from ten different English counties. It was possible if I planned it right and East Sussex could be one of those counties. I had spotted a circul series down here called the Burwash Bash which had 51 caches in this series. That was doable in a day so the series as on my agenda.

Essex Way - Way Out Ongar Way

My original plan today was to pop down into Kent for a couple of hours. However when I saw this section of the Essex Way : Ongar to Cannon’s Green, had been re-published yesterday, I had a change of plan and thought I’d come up here instead. I didn’t think that any FTFs would be available but I knew that it would be a decent walk.

Shivering Sands Fort

As soon as Nathan said that there was a new cache on another of the Maunsell Forts, I knew I’d have to go for it.🤔 I soon had a boat, a date and almost immediately, a motley crew to make the journey.

Meopham - 20th May

As usual, I’m heading down in to Kent early doors at the weekend. The plan today is to mop up some more of the stragglers around Meopham. This time I was going to start at the front of the Nash Street Bash series and see how it goes. I had to park right down the road from #01 and walk up.

No Rain In Rayne

We decided to have a drive out somewhere for lunch and have a walk. I thought that the tea room at the old Rayne railway station would be something different. I was allowed to get a cache as well.🤔

The City Stone - 16th May

I had to go up to Chelmsford today and called in at the museum for a multi cache. Alas, half of the museum is closed for development so I couldn’t get all the answers.🙁 However, outside the entrance is an Earthcache based on Puddingstone.

Bridging The Stour

Last week, I spent the day caching around Clare so I thought I’d spend some time up above Colchester maybe straying into Suffolk around Polstead. During the day, I came across caches that I’d visited before and failed to find but had not logged.🤔 I will definitely DNF every cache that I can’t find from now on.👍🏻 The first cache of the day is Grail Quest - Leodegrance, part of a series based on ancient knights.
