I have an event planned today at the former Workhouse in Billericay. It became St. Andrew's Hospital but when that closed in 1997, the site was refurbished but the whole of the former Workhouse, built in 1841, was retained.
Saturday morning and it's another early start. As usual, I'm off into Kent. Now that the dawns are getting later, I have no need to get through the tunnel as I don't want to hang around in the dark.
My youngest daughter was popping over to Stockholm for a couple of days break so needed dropping off at Gatwick airport for 0730.
Another late start unfortunately but we won't go into that.😉 My original plan was to start in the Greenstead part of Colchester and then work my way down into Wivenhoe.

My birthday treat was a night away at some gaff in Clavering on the Essex/Herts border. We took a steady drive up to Saffron Walden where we were stopping for lunch.
Now you all know that I'm quite partial to a postbox.📮Well today, I visited the Colne Valley Postal Museum in Halstead. This is a private collection but opens twice a year under the Heritage Open Days scheme and today's the day.
Not such an early start today but I'm planning a day out in Southside Colchester. I'd originally thought of starting at Abberton Reservoir but three caches in Great Braxted, on the way, had caught my eye.
