I needed a cache for the day and this new cache recently arrived on the scene - VS Rettendon.

I was out to lunch in Billericay with mates today and after a pleasant £5 meal in the usual Thai, it was off to Wetherspoons for a coffee.

I needed a walk to clear my head this morning so I decided to drive over to Hullbridge for a longwalk along the seawall.

Today I went out to the Great Dunmow area today hoping to pick up some caches but it wasn't a good day all in all. I wasted a lot of time on caches that have problems but previous cachers have found them more but luck than judgement so the CO isn't doing anything. I even found a GZ that had been burnt down by arsonists.

An early start in Danbury this morning picking up a couple of trads down Elm Green Lane put out for the recent Essex Meeting. I found a nice E2R lamp box near where I parked up as well.

I noted that the Acer had been found but the successful cacher posted a picture of the cache. So I knew what I was looking for and the background! I popped over there today and positioned myself at the right spot and virtually put my hand right on it!!

I decided that I would drive up to Ramsey Island early on and have a try at NathanJHunts new series along the sea wall. Five trads of varying difficulty which had D/Ts based on the summer activity. The first was a 3/2 but probably a 10/2 in the summer but it was a quick delve, grab and away.

Just time for one today but it was a biggy as this was 365/366 days cached on. How this was a trad I don't know. The cache was easy to find but three mathematical puzzles needed solving to open the box!

The main thrust of the day was to finish off the rest of the Essex Way B2D series which runs from Boxted to Dedham. It would have been great to walk it in one go but I had the car so had to organise it into manageable sections.

Another couple of hours so it's off to the Dengie again. I can be in Stow Maries or is it still Stow St. Mary's locally in 24 mins and there were a couple of new caches out there for me.
