Shoebury and the Lost Church - 15th October

As usual, I go geocaching early in the morning, setting off to be where I want to be by dawn as I need to be back by ten. Today I decided to drive down the A127, knowing it wouldn't be a carpark as usual and try to find the caches on the North Shoebury Trail.

364/366 only 2 days to cover! - October 16th

I needed to find a cache today as I hadn't found a cache on the 16th October. I had a couple of hours in the early afternoon and was planning to pick up some errant caches in the Grays area. I checked my e-mails and noted that a Sidetracked cache had been activated in Stanford-le-Hope. It seemed silly not to try to find it.

Canvey Island Turns All Smiley

With news that the cache at Scars Elbow in Canvey Island had been found again, I thought that I'd try to find the only cache remaining to be found up by me. I'd been before and I'm sure that I'd read that it was a hanging nano but I couldn't find it that time.

Prittlewell Pathway - 11th October

I had a spare couple of hours so I drove down to the home of football, Roots Hall in Southend to finish off the Prittlewell Greenway series that I'd started last week. A dry day so even better. I had planned to do the multi in Priory Park called The Bandstand but there had been a few DNFs so I gave it a miss.

Harwich Hangover - 8th October

After a great night in the Alma, running into old pals and making new ones included Arfon from Porthmadog wearing a Welsh kilt, I had a lay-in at the hotel, resting my head. We set out for the festival after a late breakfast.

It's Earthcache Day!

After a quieter night last night so it was earlier to be out and about today. After breakfast, we set off for home via Beaumont where I had unfinished business! Armed with the correct coords, I made a quick find of the errant cache. It wasn't where it was supposed to be but had become detached and I found the cache under much undergrowth. I replaced it where it should be and set off for my next port of call.

Hatfield Forest Clean-Up - 6th October

Today I went back to Hatfield Forest to clean up the various series of caches over there. Run Around has produced some great caches in and around the forest, many of which were awarded faves. I don't know how he thinks them up!

Harwich Bound - 7th October

We were going off to the Harwich Shanty Festival today and I only had plans to find one cache today. This was the CM at Beaumont-cum-Moze. This was a puzzle cache involving videos showing Canadian forces taking Vimy Ridge during WW1. The Canadians were led by a soldier who was born in Beaumont. He became Field Marshal, Viscount Byng of Vimy and is laid to rest in the churchyard.
