I needed a mystery cache for the 365 Challenge today but I had somewhat of a dilemma.🤔 No car, mislaid my bus pass so what should I do? I caught the train into Southend to complete the Southend Stations AL series and hopefully find the associated bonus cache.
I alighted at Southend Central and quickly added that base. I walked down to the Pier for the station there and then determined the whereabouts of the bonus. It was well over a mile away up Southchurch Road but at least there were three trads on the way to break up the journey. So I wandered off and collected the three trads until I reached the search area for the bonus. Luckily I had a quick find here.
However it started to rain so I waited for a bus that would stop or cab that didn't just cruise on past.🤔 As neither events ocurred, I ended up walking but at least the rain stopped. That allowed me to look up and see something that I hadn't noticed before. A splendid piece of industrial architecture unnoticed by most people going about their business.
By the way, the main photo is of the legend that is Mickey Jupp, the "guvnor" of Southend's rock and roll scene, with Southend Pier in the distance.
