I was on my way to Hadleigh CP to do another instalment of the Mega Bird Walk when I realised that I'd left my spectacles at home. Unperturbed I did a detour to try to find the elusive cache in Thundersley Woods. I'd probably do better without seeing where I was going!
My head hurts and it's not the sound of Mercs thrashing down the straight! Still there are caches to be found! I walked down to the Spirit of Brooklands, was this the replica of Concorde posing near the roundabout? Now who would put a cache in gorse bushes? No chance of me trying for this one!
It was Mission GC part 2 Souvenir day and I needed a muli-cache to achieve that. I had 5 multis in hand and got 4 of them so I have the new badge in my profile now. I picked up a trad on the way home so happy days.
Kathy had booked s a night at the Brooklands Hotel so we had to navigate the M25! My plan was to pick up the two trads at Clacket South Services but almost disaster when we got here as I'd picked up the wrong glasses case!
My plan today was to try to plug some of my Hidden Month gaps. There were four in Epping Forest that it wanted to look for so I meandered over that way via Bedfords Park, Romford, then Chigwell, picking off a few CMs and STs until I got to Epping Forest.
I went over to Hadleigh CP to have a go at the Family Ride Wherigo but I was going to walk it. I had no idea how long it would take and it was bloody hot!!
As it's SideTracked Day, I need to get back out there and get geocaching again! The nearest unfound one to me was Shoeburyness so I got dropped off at Basildon and got a Senior return down to Shoebury for a fiver.
After the excitement yesterday, I was planning a leisurely poodle home picking up a few caches on the way. I didn't sleep that well so went for a walk around town before breakfast. I picked up 15 caches along the canal and then back to eat for 0800.
I've decided to have a rest today and stop the run. I reckon that I can pick up more caches this way rather than a single cache every day.
Another quiet day on the caching front but plenty of planning, trying to work on my geocaching profile and other odds and sods. We've booked a cruise today to Ireland from Avonmouth (City of Bristol, maybe Somerset and Gloucester counties) visiting Dublin (hopefully Bray) and Cork. More counties to colour in on the map :-).
